Write about a news event from when you were still in school and how it made you feel.

As an elementary schooler, we received TIME for Kids magazine, which were these little mini two or three page magazines with news and photos of the day. One of those - distributed to kids! - had a very small blurb about Michael Newdow’s Supreme Court case about the Pledge of Allegiance. I honestly don’t remember what about that article spoke to me other than that, at about 9 years old, I was having my first “doubts” and was well on the way to being a freethinking atheist. I cut the little story out and hung it on my door.

And that’s the end of the #50in50 series! Look forward to a retrospective on it later this week.
